Hummus Pita Pocket.

Original Recipe: Jillian Michaels.

Calories: 350 original recipe – with my alterations 300 Cal.

My Review: Super tasty, its unbelievable that all of this taste can come from so little effort, and the best part > no added salt. I personally love spicy food so the bird peppers also helped with adding a lot of extra flavor. Her recipe asks for plain hummus, I used spinach with artichoke hummus.

I think I may have come in at under the 350 as I left the cheese and carrot out.

Here is my tweaked recipe:

Difficulty level: Easy

1 6″ whole wheat pita pocket

1/4 cup spinach and artichoke humus

A few bird chili peppers finely cut (Optional)

1/2 cup mixed greens (mostly lettuce & arugula)

1 small tomato

1 tbsp. red onion diced

Method

I lightly toasted my pita, removed from the pan. Cut in half, gently open the pockets, fill each half with equal amounts of the all of the ingredients, and enjoy!

Option if using cheese:

Its 2 tbsp. organic mozzarella shredded, just sprinkle on with the other ingredients =80 calories

Carrots: 1/4 cup carrot= 7calories
