Silence Appreciated

via Daily Prompt: Ooze

The sound of silence

“the sound of silence”

This has been rearing its ugly head as I have just moved into a neighborhood that seems to be filled with “weekend dj’s”

Its that time of day after working 6 long days that they decide to jam! Not sure if its them being kind and wanting to serenade the entire neighborhood or just a little disrespect-

Its a funny juxtaposition in that- it makes me feel safe knowing that “the dj’s” always seem to be up and jamming- so no stranger could pass through- but then the noise makes me a little annoyed when I am trying to be silent…. I know – life could be worst… 🙂

It feels a little unfair that

silence can be taken away from you

When the music finally stops- ahhhhh the silence.. the appreciation for silence at that moment…..its like no other-

When its silent I can listen to, and appreciate, all of the simple noises that I would normally take for granted… like

sugar falling into an empty cup

So maybe “the dj’s”  have done me a favor, by making me ooze with appreciation for the simple things in life- the noises we hear in silence-

From one islander (Bermuda) to another… I appreciate silence also–if someone could only convince the tree frogs of that!
